Empowering Future Leaders: The 28 Villages Trainee Manager Program

At 28 Villages, we are committed to excellence and cultivating a strong, supportive environment for our teams. Our passion for quality and expertise shapes everything we do, and we take great pride in developing future leaders who share our dedication to high standards. One of the ways we invest in the growth of our team is through our Trainee Village Manager Program, a structured initiative designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in village management.

What is the Trainee Village Manager Program?

The Trainee Village Manager (TVM) Program is a hands-on training experience aimed at developing the key skills, knowledge, and expertise needed to manage a village successfully. Over a period of 6 to 12 months, participants undergo a well-rounded training journey that includes workshops, on-the-job learning, and assessments. This comprehensive approach ensures that each trainee develops a deep understanding of village management, from operations to leadership, and internal processes.

Our goal is to not only equip trainees with the necessary skills to excel in their roles but also foster their ongoing professional development. This program provides significant career advancement opportunities for those who complete it, ensuring that they are ready to take on leadership roles within 28 Villages.

A Structured and Supportive Training Path

The TVM Program involves both theoretical and practical learning, with a strong focus on hands-on experience. Trainees work alongside skilled professionals in key areas of village management, gaining exposure to various departments and operations. From catering and housekeeping to safety and administration, each trainee has the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of village operations.

Key Components of the Trainee Village Manager Program:

  1. Workshops and Training: Trainees attend a series of workshops designed to enhance their managerial, operational, and leadership skills. This includes specialized training in general safety, food safety, and people management.
  2. On-the-Job Training: Practical experience is key to the program. Trainees spend time in different departments, including kitchen, bar, housekeeping, and mine site cleaning, ensuring they gain knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a village. They are involved in various tasks such as managing stock takes, conducting safety inspections, handling payroll, and improving efficiency across different areas.
  3. Mentorship and Feedback: Throughout the program, trainees receive continuous feedback and support from experienced managers. Each trainee has a direct manager who is responsible for overseeing their progress, offering guidance, and verifying training completions. This structured mentorship ensures that every trainee is on track to meet their goals.
  4. Progress Tracking: The program requires trainees to maintain records of their learning, including evidence of task completion, certifications, and signed verifications. This helps both the trainee and the management team to track progress and ensure comprehensive skill development.
Success Stories: Why the Trainee Manager Program Works

At 28 Villages, we believe that the best way to learn is through a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Our hands-on approach to training ensures that each trainee not only learns the theory behind effective village management but also gains the confidence and competence to apply that knowledge in real-world settings.

Our program is designed to be comprehensive and flexible, allowing trainees to learn at their own pace while receiving the support and resources they need to succeed. The exposure to different aspects of village management—from kitchen operations to safety inspections—gives trainees the full scope of what it takes to manage a village efficiently and with care.

Since launching the program 12 months ago, we’ve seen two trainees complete the program and successfully transition into Village Manager roles within 28 Villages. This is a testament to the program’s effectiveness in developing the next generation of leaders in village management.

Continuous Development and Career Progression

The Trainee Village Manager Program is more than just a training experience—it’s a pathway to a long-term career in village management and operations. Upon successful completion of the program, trainees are equipped with the skills to take on leadership roles, ensuring the continued success of 28 Villages.

We are committed to the ongoing development of our team members, and the TVM Program is a key part of that commitment. By providing valuable training and career development opportunities, we’re empowering the next generation of leaders in village management.
