The 28 Parrot – Our Logo and Emblem

At 28 Villages, we are proud to use the 28 Parrot as our emblem. This vibrant bird is more than just a logo—it is a reflection of our mission to bring life, comfort, and colour to the fly-in-fly-out experience.

Here is why the 28 Parrot is so meaningful to us:

A Symbol of Joy and Protection: In Western Australia, the 28 Parrot, known as Darlmoorluk to the Noongar people, is believed to ward off evil spirits and bring good energy to its surroundings. For us, this bird symbolises the welcoming, positive atmosphere we aim to create in the mining villages we manage.

A Distinctive Call: The name “28” comes from the parrot’s unique call that is said to sound like a whistled “twenty-eight”. It is a familiar sound that creates a sense of belonging and connection.

A Colourful Emblem: The 28 Parrot is a brightly coloured bird, and it perfectly matches our goal of bringing colour and life to the remote mining camps we serve. We focus on making the fly-in, fly-out experience better with hospitality that feels like home.

Why the 28 Parrot is Our Perfect Emblem

The 28 Parrot represents exactly what we aim to do at 28 Villages: offer reliable service, create a welcoming atmosphere, and bring life and colour to the mining villages we manage.

It’s more than just a logo. It’s a reminder of our commitment to enriching the experience for everyone who spends time in the villages we serve. Whether it’s through our catering, facilities management, or maintenance services, we want every worker to feel cared for, valued, and supported.

So next time you see our logo, remember: the 28 Parrot is more than just a bird—it’s the essence of who we are and the service we provide.
